Each year, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office on 42nd Street in New York City sponsors the Creative Climate Awards, a series of events that showcase artists creating climate-inspired public works and actions. It is an international call-to-action, organized by The Human Impacts Institute. XDEA designed the 2017 exhibition based on the themes Spark, Wasted, Breathe and Submerge. The concept for the curated exhibit was to imagine the vast space of the TECO lobby filling up with water. Selected sculptures are placed within the space as if they are floating, with images of water projected onto the ceiling of the mezzanine.
